This series follows a rook (Corvus frugilegus) as it lifts from an oak branch overlooking the waters of Abberton Reservoir in Colchester. Captured in natural light, the sequence highlights the rook’s powerful wings, iridescent feathers, and distinctive pale bill as it takes to the air. Each frame shows a different stage of flight, from its initial perch to its steady departure over the water.
