Cormorant Feeding Sequence – Phalacrocorax carbo at Brandon Marsh
A complete behaviour cycle from pontoon to feeding and back again.
This 14–image sequence captures the Great Cormorant at Brandon Marshes as it moves through its full routine. Beginning with a quiet moment resting on the pontoon, the bird prepares to dive, launches into the water, and creates a dramatic splash as it disappears beneath the surface. The series then follows the cormorant swimming, feeding, and flying back to the pontoon before finishing with its classic wing–drying pose and preening display. A complete story of strength, elegance, and daily survival.
